FLIGHT SYSTEMS - Emma Chapman

Our Flight Systems team lead, Emma Chapman, is a Bachelor of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering student, who has also recently completed a Diploma of Languages in German.

Roles and Responsibilities at HPR:

My role involves leading and organising the flight systems sub-team to ensure we effectively work together to produce the cool deployment and avionics systems we use to recover our rockets. I am also responsible for running the flight line on launch days.

Projects and Tasks worked on:

Sensor and telemetry electronics, 3D printing for our wind tunnel testing, I was also a project lead for Icarus (our 10kmentry)

Favourite Monash HPR moment:

My favourite Monash HPR moment is from last years competition. We were celebrating the night we finished launching and all the other teams were joining in and having a good time with us. I found it a great bonding experience with all these new people who share the same love of rocketry and engineering and it made me very proud to be part of a team with such an inclusive and fun culture.
